Ms Patricia LewsleyChildren's Commissioner Ms Patricia Lewsley addressed the Irish Association's annual St. Patrick's Day lunch in the Malone Lodge Hotel, Belfast. Patricia spoke about her role as Commissioner for Children and Young People in NI and the challenge at a time of substantial change in Northern Ireland of safeguarding and promoting the rights of children. Patricia spoke about her motivation in working on children's issues over the years and the positive influence of young across the community in Northern Ireland. Patricia stressed that the Commission's priority will be to build on this foundation to create a culture of children's rights and a society that truly cherishes our children and paves the way for them to develop their full potential where participation of children and young people is the norm and they are full citizens in their own right.
