MEMORANDUM

Proposed alterations to the Constitution of the Irish Association.

At Council Meetings held in Dundalk last winter it was agreed that the structures of the Association were too cumbersome and that the current Constitution should be amended and streamlined. It was agreed that there would be one set of Officers working within the Council, but there could continue to be separate working groups, answerable to the Council, meeting and working as necessary in the two jurisdictions, North and South. There would be one Vice-President and one set of accounts and one Honorary Treasurer. The Council would continue to reflect the All Ireland and North/South nature of the Association.

Please refer to the Constitution now published on the Website, which takes account of the proposed amendments which will be put before Members for adoption and/or amendment at the Annual General Meeting on 11th November, 2007.
